John Whittingdale presented a cheque for £5,000 from the Football Foundation to Woodham Radars FC.
Funded by the Premier League, the FA and the Government via Sport England, the Football Foundation is the nation’s largest sports charity. Since its launch in July 2000, it has so far supported around 8,000 community sports projects worth £920 million. The award of £5,000 over a three year period will go towards developing new youth football teams.
These will be part of the development programme which this Charter Standard Club has formed to fill a niche for young players in the local area of South Woodham Ferrers to have a place to come and meet new friends and develop their sporting abilities.
