In the last month, there have been concerns that have been raised by constituents about access to primary care in the constituency. It is an issue that I have previously raised with the local NHS Clinical Commissioning Group and have closely monitored during the summer.
I have recently been informed by the CCG that, of the 160,632 appointments that were provided by Mid Essex CCG GP practices in July 2021, 60% were face-to-face. This compares to 57% of appointments being offered face-to-face nationally during this period.
Whilst I am aware that some restrictions remain and some difficulties continue, I welcome the assurances I have received from the CCG that they are supporting local surgeries to help provide face to face appointments and hope that the situation will continue to improve.
