John Whittingdale visited Maldon Oysters to see their new premises and processing plant at Birchwood Farm, Cock Clarks.
Maldon Oysters have become one of the biggest producers of Oysters in the UK and can be found on the menu of restaurants across the UK.
John discussed with owner, Richard Emans, and Managing Director, Chris Hadfield, their move to new facilities as well as the need to control pollution of the River Blackwater in which the oysters are grown.
John said: “Oysters have become another fine food product identified with Maldon and it is great to see the new investment that has gone in to ensure that they remain of the highest quality”.
