John Whittingdale MP stood in the House of Commons yesterday to speak in the Online Safety Bill Second Reading.
This Bill is a groundbreaking piece of legislation, and the UK is one the first countries to attempt to bring in controls over content online.
John Whittingdale’s close work with the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport as both Secretary of State and his role as chair of the DCMS Select Committee, means that he has a keen interest in the potential impacts of the proposed legislation. John will continue to follow the progress of the bill closely.
