John Whittingdale MP was pleased to visit Maylandsea Primary School today.
He had a tour of the school and spoke with some of the pupils with Headteacher, Mrs Clare James. He also met Joseph Figg, Chief Executive of the Eveleigh LINK Academy Trust, which runs 5 local Primary Schools including Maylandsea and Purleigh in the Maldon District.
John was glad he had time to discuss the pressures on School Budgets caused by the increase in National Insurance and rising fuel costs, and he has raised these concerns with the Minister for Schools.
