John Whittingdale was pleased to have the opportunity to visit Southern Ecological Solutions in Downham, to hear about the work that they are doing on HS2.
Southern Ecological Solutions (SES) a multidisciplinary independent business that provides ecological, arboricultural and landscape design consulting services throughout the UK.
Formed 9 years ago, the company has worked for a variety of clients including Government, local authorities, charities, developers and home owners. It is working on the whole HS2 route to provide environmental mitigation measures which seek to leave behind a more diverse ecology than before construction along the route.
John met Stuart Pankhurst, Managing Director of SES (pictured) and Matt Danks from HS2 Ltd, along with members of staff who described the work done to protect and rehouse bats living in trees along the route as well as badgers and other wildlife.
