Last Friday, John Whittingdale visited Servowatch Systems Ltd based in Heybridge Maldon.
Servowatch are international suppliers of integrated marine automation solutions for navies, commercial vessels and large yachts. Originally based in Tollesbury, the company moved to Heybridge in 2012 and in December 2020, it was acquired by Rolls Royce and is now part of the RR Power Systems division.
The company currently employs 35 people and has recently won a major contract with the German Navy. It also has contracts with two of the biggest shipbuilders in the world, both based in South Korea.
John said:
“I am delighted that Servowatch, a local company, is winning contracts around the world, not least in South Korea which I will shortly be visiting in my capacity as the Prime Minister’s Trade envoy to the Republic of Korea. While there, I will be visiting the shipyards in Busan to promote UK businesses like Servowatch”.
