Rt Hon Sir John Whittingdale MP and Rt Hon Priti Patel MP have sent a joint letter to the Secretary of State for Health, to outline their concern regarding the ongoing Independent Inquiry into Mental Health Services in Essex, following the publication of a letter from the Chair of the Inquiry stating that she no longer believed that it is appropriate for the inquiry to be conducted on a non-statutory basis.
John, Priti and other Essex MP colleagues, are seeking an urgent meeting with the Secretary of State to discuss the concerns raised by the Chair and to press for the Inquiry to be given the necessary powers.
