Sir John Whittingdale visited All Saints Primary School in Maldon, to mark the start of the work on a new classroom as part of an extension of the school.
Previously on two sites, the school has now been consolidated on a single site in Highlands Drive. It has taken around ten years to finalise the project using money from the sale of the other site nearby.
John said:
“It was good to visit All Saints School, and to speak with Executive headteacher, Phil Brown and other members of staff about school funding, and other relevant issues.
I have previously raised the issue of school funding and increased costs for schools with the Minister at the Department of Education, and welcome the £2.3bn of additional funding for schools in both 2023-24 and 2024-25″
