Sir John Whittingdale visited Kelly Turkeys at Springate Farm in Danbury, and was shown around the new processing facility in Howe Green.
John discussed with Managing Director, Paul Kelly, the impact of avian flu on the poultry industry and the measures being taken ahead of any outbreak this winter as well as labour supply problems and export challenges.
John said:
“Kelly Turkeys are rightly regarded as the finest in Britain. It is great to hear that the business has bounced back from the challenges of Covid and Avian Flu and is now going from strength to strength”.
Sir John is pictured with three generations of the Kelly family involved in the business: Toby Kelly, Managing Director Paul Kelly and Founder Derek Kelly.
