John Whittingdale visited St Peter’s High School, Burnham on Crouch, to help Sixth Formers with their entry in the National Youth Parliament Competition.
The competition is organised by the Citizenship Foundation and is intended to help students gain a better understanding of the legislative process and the role of the House of Commons. John helped students stage a mock Prime Minister’s Question Time and Second Reading debate which was filmed for submission to the Judges. John is shown with a group of students alongside Cllr Peter Elliott, Chairman of Governors, and David Stephenson, Headteacher of St Peter’s.
