John Whittingdale visited leading geosynthetics manufacturer, TERRAM, which is based on the Blackwater Trading Estate in Maldon. TERRAM, which is part of the Berry Plastics Group, supplies specialty Geosynthetics and materials for the landscape and construction markets. In particular, it manufactures a range of products which can help protect, manage or prevent flooding. John was given a presentation by Nick Hurt, Senior Director, on three of these core products: TERRAM Geocells, Bodpave 85 paving grids and TUBEX tree shelters.
John said: “Flooding is becoming a more regular and more severe problem in the UK and elsewhere. Flood defences are going to become increasingly important and products like these can play a vital part in protecting people’s homes. It is great that TERRAM, based in Maldon, is a world-leader in this field and I was delighted to visit TERRAM and to meet the staff”
