John Whittingdale welcomed Phil and Abby Wilcox, proprietors of Wibblers Brewery in Southminster to the House of Commons to celebrate their best-selling Apprentice ale, being guest beer in the Strangers Bar of the House of Commons for the week beginning 4th December.
Wibblers was established on a commercial basis in 2007 in a converted barn in Mayland by Phil Wilcox, following 20 years of home brewing experience. Its beers have won numerous awards and John also recently attended the opening of their new premises and tap room in Goldsands Road, Southminster.
John said: “This week is a particularly busy one in Parliament and the House of Commons sat until 1.00am on Monday. The bar is always full with Members and guests and I am delighted that my colleagues will have plenty of opportunity to enjoy Wibblers Apprentice throughout the week.”
