John Whittingdale visited Trinity St Mary’s Primary School in South Woodham Ferrers to present the newly elected School Council members with their badges and to talk to the children about his work as a Member of Parliament. John said:
“I was delighted to meet the new School Council members and to congratulate them on their election. School Council elections provide a great introduction to the principles of democracy and I also enjoyed answering questions from all the pupils. These were wide-ranging and challenging covering topics like Brexit and the working of the economy as well as my role in representing the Maldon constituency in Parliament”.
