John Whittingdale opened the new Chelmer Housing Partnership development at Grangewood Park, Southminster Road, Burnham on Crouch. This is a new development of 72 affordable dwellings representing the first rented and shared ownership homes provided by CHP in Burnham. All of the rental properties will be owned by CHP with Maldon District Council nominating people to live in them – a quarter of which will go to people with a local connection.
John Whittingdale said: “I am delighted to launch this scheme which will provide badly needed affordable homes in Burnham. We face a severe housing shortage in the District and I hope that those who are fortunate enough to obtain a property in this development will be very happy in their new homes”.
