Constituents who live in Maldon District and who may not be showing Covid symptoms are now able to take a Covid test as part of a joint programme with Essex County Council and the Department for Health and Social Care.
Constituents can collect Covid test kits from Maldon Town Hall and carry out the swabbing to nose and mouth at home. The completed tests are then to be placed in a collection box at the Town Hall for it to be couriered to a lab for the results to be determined.
The District Council are requesting that only 1 person attends to collect the testing kit, rather than a group or a household.
You do not need to book an appointment and tests can be collected at the following times:
Monday 9.30am – 3.30pm
Tuesday 9.30am – 3.30pm
Wednesday 9.30am – 3.30pm
Those collecting test kits are reminded to wear facemasks and to not attend the site if they are experiencing Covid symptoms.
The Council ask that for test kits collected after 12 noon on a Wednesday, that residents do not take the test until the following Monday and then return the test kit on that day.
Please be aware that the test cannot be carried out on site and must be taken away to ensure that the Council can manage the process safely and support as many residents as possible.
