Essex Flood Team are submitting a bid to the Innovation Fund for a nature-based solution to flooding in the area, which could include introducing leaky dams to create extra storage using natural processes to regulate water supplies downstream.
Mr Whittingdale encourages any residents that have experienced internal flooding to apply for the Property Flood Resilience Grant. John welcomes the Government’s plan to double spending on flood defences to £5.2billion and hopes that local areas such as Heybridge will be able to benefit from this extra funding. In the meantime, John will continue to engage with residents and Councils to discuss options to reduce the risk of flooding locally.
Should you require help or if you have had problems contacting the district or county councils regarding flooding, please do get in touch.
